I've got a question regarding my credit report and what they can put on my report.

Eg. I set up a loan in 1999. And last payment was in 2000.
I understand that the debt is statute barred as I have never formally written back to them about the debt.

What I want to know is. They defaulted me for the late payments in 2000. And that this should already be off my credit report as it only stays for 5 years.

However, Are they allowed to file a "clearout" on my credit report in 2005 which will stay on my file for another 7 years?

Should the "clearout" msg stay with the date of the last payment made or whenever they want??

I ignore it but today she is offended again.
She is offended as I often have big clearouts of my designer clothes and bags and shoes. I like to give them to her 13 year old daughter as she is often bullied at school for not dressing how other girls dress (money is tight for her) I did not do it to cause offense or to make anybody feel bad, I did it for the kid, she was so happy! My sister in law left in a huff with me again. Do I even bother explaining???
